Rabbi Dina Najman is the founding rabbi of The Kehilah of Riverdale. Prior to this pulpit, Rabbi Najman was the Marta d’Atra (spiritual and halakhic leader) of the Orthodox minyan, Kehilat Orach Eliezer in Manhattan for 8 years. She is the head of the Gemara department at SAR Academy and has been educating students there for 10 years.
Rabbi Najman studied at Michlalah and Yeshiva University. She was a Drisha fellow and learned in Nishmat’s Machon Gavoha Nidda Program. Rabbi Najman received her Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Professor Daniel Sperber and earned her certification in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from the NYU/Einstein Bioethics and Medical Humanities Certificate Program. She is a Senior Rabbinic Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Najman has extensive experience teaching and speaking in the Jewish community on topics ranging from bioethics to environmental law. She has served on the board of the Halakhic Organ Donor Society (HODS) for more than 10 years and was the Education Committee chair for the Agunah Task Force. She presently serves on the Board of Uri l’Tzedek and the Advisory Board of Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.
